According to a Barna Group poll, 66% of Christians don’t believe Satan is real. This is in stark contrast to what the Bible teaches. The Bible tells us that Satan is a very real and personal being. His name was Lucifer, and he was a powerful angel, who led a rebellion against God.

It’s important to remember that even though Satan is real he is not God’s equal. Satan isn’t divine, all-knowing, or all-powerful. He was created by God, and He will be defeated by God in God’s perfect timing.

Satan in the Beginning:

“Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.”
- Revelation 12:7-9

Satan in the End:

“They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
-Revelation 20:9-10
